ohora Gel Strips can last up to two weeks or more, depending on the application method and the condition of your nails.
(However, using hand cream or lotion before or after application may reduce adhesion and longevity.)
Tips from the ohora Crew for long-lasting nails!
1) Prepare your nails properly
- Wash your hands thoroughly and use the included prep pad to remove any oil or moisture from your nails.
2) Choose the right size
- Select a slightly smaller gel strip than your nail size.
- (If the strip is too small, gently stretch it to fit your nail without damaging it.)
3) Leave a slight gap from the cuticle
- Avoid placing the gel strip too close to the cuticle, as excess oil from this area may cause lifting and hair snagging during wear.
4) Ensure firm adhesion
- Use the included wood stick or dual stick to firmly press down along the edges.
- (Proper adhesion prevents lifting and increases longevity.)
- ⭐ Pro Tip: Use the handle side of the wood stick to gently roll and press the gel strip for a smoother finish.
5) Trim & Cure Properly
- Trim excess gel strip with a nail clipper, leaving about 1mm extra before curing.
- Cure under the ohora White Gel Lamp for 60 seconds (1–2 times recommended).
- Be careful not to over-cure, as this may cause the gel strip edges to crack.
6) Shape for a perfect finish
- Once the gel strip hardens, file the edges for a neat and polished look.
- (If you hear a "tock tock" sound when tapping the surface, your gel strip is properly cured!)
7) Apply a top gel for extra shine & longevity
- Applying ohora Pro Glossy Top Gel over cured gel strips will enhance shine and longevity. (Please note that this top gel has a glossy finish.)
- After applying the top gel, cure 2–3 times under the ohora White Gel Lamp (60 seconds per session) for the best results.
- ⚠️ Note: We do not recommend using a top gel on 3D embossed designs, as it may cover the texture and affect the intended look.
If the gel strip is not fully adhered, we recommend removing it within 20 days for nail hygiene and health.
